Define urbanisation.
The increase in the proportion of people living in the towns and the cities.
What is rural depopulation?
The push factors cause people to leave the rural areas and attract them to the towns and cities, decreasing the population of rural areas. This process is called rural depopulation.
Define counter-urbanisation.
The movement of people from the urban areas to rural areas, mostly in MEDCs.
