Therapeutic use: relieve bronchospasm (COPD/ asthma)

complications:
- dry mouth
- hoarseness

A
- asses resp status before and after
- multiple inhalers: use bronchodilators first, anitcholingerics, followed by corticosteroids
- teach proper inhaler use
- avoid with atropine and belladonna alkaloids allergies
- pt. report low urine output
- have pt. be checked for glaucoma

A
- instruct in proper inhaler use
- take missed doses as soon as remembered unless it almost time for next dose
- rinse mouth, suck on gym or sugarless hard candy to avoid dry mouth
- do not exceed 12 doses in 24 hours
- call provider if symptoms do not improve in 30 mins
- notify your provider if you have nervousness, headache, dizziness, nausea

- peanut allergies
- caution with narrow-angle glaucoma and benign prostatic hyperplasia
