A320 Lounge Smoke Flashcards
Where do we have smoke detection?
Lavatory
Cargo holds
Avionics
How many smoke detectors per lavatory?
One
Where is information from lavatory smoke detectors send?
CIDS (not FWC straight away) which is why failed CIDS is a no-go item on MEL
Where is information from cargo hold smoke detectors sent?
CIDS (not FWC straight away) which is why failed CIDS is a no-go item on MEL
What extinguishing do we have in the lavatory?
Lavatory bin has automated system, based on temperature detection. It should automatically discharge directly into the bin
What information do pilots get if the lavatory autoextinguisher has discharged?
None, however the agent may lead to the smoke detection
Cabin crew should spot it on their toilet checks
Do the cargo holds have fire detection?
No. Only smoke detection
How many smoke detectors in forward cargo hold?
2
(In each cavity there are two)
How many smoke detectors in the aft cargo hold?
4 for A320
6 for A321
(In each cavity there are two)
How many loops per smoke detector?
Each have 2 loops
What is the logic of the cargo hold smoke detection loops?
If both of them detect smoke
Or if one failed and other one detects smoke
Information then sent to CIDS, then onto FWC, generating master warning
How many extinguishing bottles do we have for each cargo hold?
There is only one bottle, shared between the two. We can only fire it into one of the holds
What is the threat when dealing with smoke which is detected in the cargo hold?
That you fire the agent into the wrong hold. Both buttons are guarded, so need cross-confirmation between pilots
Where is the avionics smoke detector?
Downstream of the avionics equipment
What are the conditions required to trigger the avionics smoke detection?
Smoke detected for over 5 seconds
