What is the difference between the HYD RAT MAN ON pb and the EMER ELEC RAT MAN ON pb?

Answer 1

Hydraulic pb lowers the RAT, which pressurises the blue system.

The EMER ELEC one does that, and also connects the emergency generator

Will an engine 2 failure cause an immediate loss of yellow system?

Answer 2

Not immediate as the system still has enough power until N2 goes down to 8% ish. Power reduces around 13%. Windmilling can cause the system to remain powered

For a hydraulic malfunction, when will the RAT automatically deploy?

Never. Only when the guarded RAT MAN ON pb is selected

When is the RAT automatically deployed?

Only AC BUS 1and AC BUS 2 fault

If on the ground, engine masters are in different positions, what happens when the parking brake is released? What happens when it is reapplied?

The PTU is energised. When it is reapplied, the PTU is deenergised

If both engine masters are on on the ground, what happens to the PTU?

It will be on, if it detects the 500psi difference

If on the ground, the engine masters are in different positions, what controls whether the PTU is operating?

The position of the park brake. If on, PTU inhibited.

If off, the PTU functions
