Q

What is the maximum demonstrated crosswind for takeoff and landing?

What is the significance of the word ‘demonstrated’?

A

For takeoff and landing, 38knots including gusts.
For NEO and for A321 35knots for takeoff, 38 for landing.

Demonstrated means it is not an Airplane Flight Manual limitation - it is the maximum experienced during certification campaign. Airbus recommends that operators should not intentionally operate in crosswinds that exceed this value

21
Q

What causes the FLT CTLS SD to appear automatically on taxi out?

A

Either pilot moving the sidestick more than 3 degrees in pitch or roll, or more than 22 degrees on the rudder
