What is sidestick relationship in pitch in the flare?

What happens to the THS

A

Direct in pitch - trimmed to minus 2 degrees nose down over 8 second period

THS is frozen

Q

When does ground mode change to flight mode?

A

When aircraft is above 8 degrees nose up, over half a second, it changes from direct relationship in roll to a roll rate

In pitch, from 8 degrees nose up, it blends over 5 seconds, from ground mode into flight mode

This changes the sidestick so that the pitch attitude is eventually 15 degrees nose up approximately, but will require zero sidestick to maintain this

Q

When does flight mode change to flare mode?

A

50ft RA over 1 second

THS is frozen
Aircraft remembers pitch attitude
At 30ft, trims down towards minus 2 degrees nose down over 8 seconds, so we have to pull back to achieve a ‘normal feeling’

Q

When does flare mode change to ground mode?

A

For roll, after touchdown, over half a second, it changes.

For pitch, after we touch down, have to wait 5 seconds, and also pitch attitude is less than 2.5 degrees nose up
