Electrics Flashcards
How many volts is the DC system?
28V
How many volts is the AC system?
115/200
How many hertz is the AC system?
400Hz
How many AC generators are there?
3 - GEN 1, GEN 2 and APU GEN
What KVA are the generators rated at?
90KVA
How many KVA is the emergency generator capable of providing?
5KVA
What does GCU stand for? What are they?
Generator Control Units. They are a combined IDG and generator
In normal operation, how is AC converted into DC?
Via the two transformer rectifiers
What are the two transformer rectifiers rated at?
200A
How many transformer rectifiers are there?
3 - they are TR1, TR2 and ESS TR. They are identical
What are the batteries permanently connected to?
The two DC hot buses
What does BCL stand for? What do they do?
Battery Charge Limiter. They automatically connect and disconnect the batteries to the DC BAT BUS
What colour CBs are monitored?
Green
What colour CBs are not monitored?
Black
Which CBs have red caps? Why?
`Wing tip brakes. To prevent crew resets
What happens if a monitored CB trips?
After 1 minute, ECAM stating ELEC C/B TRIPPED
What happens if the CLR pb is used to clear a tripped C/B? What if that C/B is reset?
CBs on the same panel are ignored, unless the affected CB is reset, in which case they all become monitored again
What happens to the CBs if the EMER CANC pb is used?
ALL CBs remain unmonitored for the remainder of the flight
In normal operation with both engines running, where does AC ESS BUS get its power from?
AC BUS 1
In normal operation with both engines running, where does DC ESS BUS get its power from?
DC BAT (not DC 1 as indicated on ECAM)
