Why would you administer this drug

A
  • Blood and fluid loss to correct hypovoleamia/hypovolaemic shock and increase tissue perfusion.
  • For patients with mild to moderate acidosis, as a source of bicarbonate, associated with dehydration of KCL deficiency

What are the doses for this drug

A
  • With haemorrhage 250ml, Max 2Litres
  • Without haemorrhage 250ml max 1 litre
  • Sepsis 1litre max 2 litre
  • Burns 1litre
  • Limb crush 2litres
  • Children with heart failure or renal failure (10ml/per kg)
  • Trauma in Kids (5ml/kg)
