A
- Contains sodium, potassium chloride, calcium chloride dehydrate and sodium lactate used for fluid therapy (2nd to Sodium chloride)

A
- 250ml
- 500ml
- 1000ml

Why would you administer this drug
A
- Blood and fluid loss to correct hypovoleamia/hypovolaemic shock and increase tissue perfusion.
- For patients with mild to moderate acidosis, as a source of bicarbonate, associated with dehydration of KCL deficiency

What are the doses for this drug
A
- With haemorrhage 250ml, Max 2Litres
- Without haemorrhage 250ml max 1 litre
- Sepsis 1litre max 2 litre
- Burns 1litre
- Limb crush 2litres
- Children with heart failure or renal failure (10ml/per kg)
- Trauma in Kids (5ml/kg)

Pharmacodynamics of this drug
A
- Isotonic solution which increases cardiac output and volume
- To restore the electrolyte balance as well as providing energy and water hydration
- Provide electrolyte balance and normalise the Ph of the acid-based balance of the physiological system

Pharmacokinetics of the drug
A
- iv route
- extensive renal absorbtion
- excreted by the renal system
- Lactate is metabolised by oxidation and glycogenesis in the liver

- Pulmonary oedema
