Pharmacodynamics

A
  • Dopamine (5HT3) antagonist which acts on the GI tract
  • Antagonises Dopamine receptors found in the chemorecptor trigger zone of the brain, which prevents nausea messages being sent to the vomitting centre
  • Increase release of Acetylocholine in the GI tract, which increase tone in the lower part of the oesophagus
