Pharmacodynamics
A
- Promotes uterine contractions by agonising 5-HT2 receptors and alpha adrenergic receptors
- Both upper and lower uterine segments are stimulated to contract

- Oral absorption
- Widely distributed
- Metabolised in the liver
- Excreted in urine or faeces

- Abdominal pain
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhoea
