- Oral solution 250mg in 5ml (5yr upwards)
- IV 1g in 100ml

A
- Relief of moderate pain and high temperature

Typical dose
A
- Adult tablet 1g every 4/6hrs, Max 4g in 24hrs
- IV 1g 4/6hrs Max 4/6hrs

Pharmacodynamics
A
- Inhibits Prostaglandin formation, this reduces the signal and frequency of the pain signal to the brain
- Antipyrectic inhibition comes from inhibitation of the prostaglandins release in the hypothalamic centre
