- Acts on agonising GABBA by opening the Chlorine channels in the cell, and repolerising it, reduces the excitability across the cells synapse.
- Needs a greater Action Potential to fire of due to hyperpolerised cell

Why would you give the drug
A
- Fits longer then 5mins and still Fitting
- Repeated Fits
- Status epilepticus 30mins
- Eclampic Fits
- Cocaine systematic chest pain.

- Rectal = 20mg
- Max 20mg
