- Tablet 200mg or 400mg
- Solution 100mg in 5ml

Why would you prescribe this drug
A
- Relief to moderate or high temperature and pain
- Soft tissue injury

Typical dose
A
- Adult 400mg every 8hrs - Max 1.2g /24hr

Pharmacodynamics
A
- Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) which inhibits the production of Prostaglandin synthesis
- COX catalyses the formation of Prostaglandin and thromboxane which act as the messenger molecule in the inflammatio process
- Inhibits platelet aggregation
- Increases pain threshold
