Mumps
an illness caused by a virus.
It usually affects the glands on each side of the face. These glands,
called parotid glands, make saliva.
Swollen glands may be tender or painful
Signs and Symptoms :
1-onset marked by:
(1) fever
(2) headache
(3) loss of appetite
2-followed by painful swelling of one or both parotid gland(s)
3-spasm of underlying muscles
-difficult to chew or talk
Causative Agent :
mumps virus
Pathogenesis :
