Signs and Symptoms
-develop 2-5 days after infection

bullous impetigo

(a) localized form of staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome
(b) characterized by large, thin walled blisters (bullae) initially filled with clear or yellowish fluid that gradually become dark
(c) lymph node enlargement does not occur
(d) yellow crusts do not form

Pathogenesis
1-enter skin through minor breaks
2-interfere with phagocytosis
3-scratching infected area can spread bacteria to other areas

Prevention
