An uncommon cutaneous (skin) infection due to a bacterium (Bacillus anthracis) that is found in the environment and typically causes illlness in animals
Signs and Symptoms
1-within few days after skin exposure to endospores, small red bump (papule) at infection site
2-over few days bump develops vesicles or blisters
3- eventually forms painless ulcer surrounded by swelling

-less likely than other types of anthrax to become systemic
-usually mild
-90% human anthrax cases

Treatment
antibiotics

-usually occurs in people who work with animals or animal products
-No person to person transmission
