Q

What is the purpose of a subdimension in a custom report?

A

It allows you to further segment the report data

You can add up to five dimensions on each tab of an Explorer custom report type: one top-level dimension, and up to four subdimensions. The subdimensions allow a user to drill down from a specific dimension value (Japan as the Country dimension, for example) to additional dimension values (such as Browser for visitors from Japan), thus further segmenting the report data.

Q

For a given dimension, how many metrics can a motion chart display simultaneously?

A

4

Motion charts can represent four metrics simultaneously: on the X, on the Y axis, by the size of the dots, and by the color of the dots.

A motion chart in the Referral Traffic report, for example, can represent Visits as the X-axis value, Pages/Visit as the Y-axis value, Goal Conversion rate as the color of the dot, and Bounce rate as the size of the dot.

Q

How do motion charts represent metrics?

  1. x-axis value
  2. y-axis value
  3. Dot Color
  4. Dot Size
A

All are Correct

  1. x-axis value
  2. y-axis value
  3. Dot Color
  4. Dot Size

As an example, a motion chart in the New vs Returning report can represent Visits on the X axis, Pages/Visit on the Y axis, Bounce Rate as the color of the dot, and Ecommerce Revenue rate as the size of the dot.

The dots themselves represent dimension values: New Visitor and Returning Visitor in this case. You can select a dimension checkbox to the right of the motion chart to label the dot as the dimension value within the report.

Q

Which of the following appear as dimensions in Google Analytics reports?

  1. Visitor Postal Code
  2. Visitor IP Address
  3. VIsitor City
  4. Visitor Country
A
  1. VIsitor City
  2. Visitor Country

Google Analytics does not report personally identifiable data such as visitor address. Visitor IP address is used to determine the other geographic dimensions but does not itself appear in any reports.

Q

Which types of calculations can appear as metrics in Google Analytics? (select all that apply)

  1. Ratios
  2. Percentages
  3. Sums
  4. Negative Values
A

All are Correct

  1. Ratios
  2. Percentages
  3. Sums
  4. Negative Values

Metrics, which by definition are numeric data, include ratios (such as pages/visit), percentages (such as percent new visits), and sums (such as unique visitors). In certain cases, such as ROI in the AdWords reports, negative values can appear as metrics.

Q

Your website contains over 1000 articles about various marketing-related subjects, such as search engine optimization, pay-per-click, and email lists. The database for your content management system stores the subject that is associated with each article. Which of the following features would allow you to also associate the subject with each article page in Google Analytics?

A

Dimension WIdening

Dimension widening refers to the process by which you can import third-party data into Google Analytics as new dimension values associated with existing data. In this example, subject would be imported as a new data “widen-to” dimension, associated with an existing key, such as an article id that Google Analytics has already captured as part of the Request UI (e.g., /articles.php?articleid=3876).

Q

How can you view the number of visitors who accessed your site from Canada on a Macintosh?

A
  1. Access the Browser & OS report, select Operating System as the primary dimension, and select Country as a secondary dimension
  2. Access the Locations report, select Country as the primary dimension, and select Operating System as a secondary dimension

You can combine these dimensions in either the Browser & OS or Locations report, but you must start with a dimension that is available as primary within the given report.

A

All are Correct

  1. Custom dimensions and metrics
  2. Dimension widening
  3. Cost Data import
  4. Measurement Protocol

  2. Secondary Dimension Values
  3. Metrics Thresholds
  4. All of the Above
A
  1. All of th Above
  2. Primary Dimension Values
  3. Secondary Dimension Values
  4. Metrics Thresholds
  5. All of the Above

You can define an advanced table filter based on the values of the table’s primary dimension, metrics, and (if applied) secondary dimension.
