Systematic desensitization.
A variation of exposure therapy in which virtual reality is used.
Virtual reality exposure therapy
A reduction in the rate of responding due to the non contingent presentation of an aversive stimulus.
Conditioned suppression
Items that are widely considered perverse or unnatural
Paraphilias
A form of counterconditioning in which a CS is paired with an aversive US, often nausea-inducing drugs.
Aversive therapy
Gave rats sweet water and paired it with gamma radiation (Garcia 1955)
Taste aversion experiments
An aversion acquired through Pavlovian conditioning, to foods with a particular flavor.
Conditioned taste aversion
How did Pavlov and Garcia’s work differ
