- Long-term treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions

Adverse effects
A
- CNS: dizziness, headache, asthenia, vertigo, insomnia, apathy
- GI: diarrhea, abdominal pain, and tongue atrophy
- Upper respiratory: cough, stuff nose, hoarseness, and epistaxis

Drug-drug
A
- Benzodiazepines, phenytoin, warfarin: increase toxicity of these meds
- Ketoconazole, theophylline: decreased levels of these meds
- Sucralfate: PPIs not absorbed well
- Clopidogrel: Increase CV effects
