  • History and physical exam
  • Check for any contraindications including myasthenia gravis, pregnancy, and impaired renal and hepatic function
  • Neurological status, orientation, reflexes, papillary response
  • VS, CV status, ECG as appropriate
  • Bowel and bladder patterns
  • Renal fx labs as appropriate
