- Blocks angiotensin II from binding with the receptors on vascular smooth muscle and in the adrenal cortex
- Prevents vasoconstriction and release of aldosterone

- Hepatic dysfunction

- CNS: HA, dizziness, syncope, weakness
- CV: Hypotension
- GI complaints
- Skin: Rash
