Mettalic bonding Flashcards

1
Q

Q

What does the metallic bond do ?

A

Gives the metal it’s strength, high melting and boiling point , They are malleable, good conductors because the electrons can carry electrical current

Q

How are they made ?

A

By mixing together two different metals but they need to have different sized atoms which disrupts the metals structure so the layers cannot slide over one another
