Fluid pressure Flashcards
how does atmospheric pressure change
it is created on surface by colliding air molecules, as altitude increases atmospheric pressure decreases as less dense so fewer molecules collide with surface and fewer above surface so weight decrease with altitude
what is the pressure of the fluid due to
density - more particles in volume so collide pressure higher
depth - number of particles above point increase so weight increase increasing fluid pressure
explain how fluid pressure is exerted
in right angles to surface in contact w fluid
give me an example of how pressure is related to force and area
sole of high heels have small area so exert large pressure on ground damaging floor
what is the units of pressure
pascals
