Q

Describe the process of DNA synthesis

A
  • The enzyme, helicase will unzip the DNA by splitting the double helix’s.
  • Nucleotides in the cytosol will move together to join at the corresponding nitrogenous base pairs at the half stand of DNA
  • These nucleotides in the cytosol are made from the food we eat.

Q

what are the two main differences between DNA and RNA

A
  1. DNA is a double helix while RNA is a single strand
  2. In RNA there is no thymine, it has been replaced by a slightly different nitrogenous base called uracil.
