Any other arrangements
What would Major and minor 2nd level fault indicate?
MCB has tripped in the motor or trailer cars
What would a minor fault indicate?

How many times can faults be reset until the defect cannot be rectified unless trying to clear the main line after being totally disabled?
3 times
If drivers cannot get in touch with TC for a train stable, who is the next contact?
Principal drivers
How long will marker lights and saloon lights remain illuminated during a train stable?
15 minutes

Emergency application with MC ESB Hand and foot pilot valve Auto vigilance bypass Trip Brake pipe pressure switch Main res pressure switch
How do you rectify another cab active fault?
Cab to cab
Check for cleaners keys and drivers keys in other cabs
Put key in each cab and try to identify faulty cab and turning the key on and off to reset the other cab operative alarm
Train stable
If the other cab active is found, where is the driver to drive from?
The faulty active cab with a CE in the front utilising the ESB
What indication would a driver get if a panto fails to make contact with overhead?
High voltage presence light fails to illuminate after 30 seconds
If there is no voltage what is the drivers duties?
Check the battery box to see if it’s isolated
If it is book it with TC
If not isolated declare train disabled
If under 90 volts on the voltage meter for train start up, what is the procedure?
Declare train disabled
If pantos fail to raise and driver has over 90 volts what are the steps?
Check the panto latching buttons in the drivers cab
Check pantograph command in circuit breaker panel
Attempt to raise from another car
If pantos fail to raise from another car, what must a driver inspect?
Trailer car and check the 3 way switch is in the auto position
Inspect panto 1 and 2 cb are set
Raise pantos manually only under the instruction of TC
What three positions does the 3 way pantograph switch have?

Manually lower and isolate
Where is the pantograph 3 way switch located?
To the right of door 4 in the trailer car
After manually raising the pantograph what must a driver do to ensure it stays up and responds to commands from the lead cab?
Turn the switch back to automatic
When raising Pantographs, what direction raises and lowers the pantograph?
Clockwise to raise
Anti clockwise to lower
