What is the purpose of DCPM?
Enable points to be operated remotely by a signaller
In case of failure, be operated by driver under the instructions of train control or a signaller
Name the two levers on the dcpm?
Selector Lever (small) Hand throw lever (large)
On the dcpm, What does the Motor position on the selector lever do?
Provide the signaller remote control of the points
Prevent manual operation of points
On the dcpm, What does the Hand position on the selector lever do?
Prevents remote control or operation of the points in the event of failure
Protects the trains by holding signals in the stop position
On the dcpm, What are the two positions on the hand throw lever?
N - Normal
R - Reverse
What does N mean in regards to points?
Normal position - points are set for main line
What does R mean in regards to points?
Reverse - points are set for diverting movement
On the dcpm, What is the sequence for hand throw lever operation if you want to move them to normal?
If the lever is in normal position -Normal-Reverse-Normal
If the points are in the reverse position
Reverse-Normal-Reverse-Normal
What are point clips?
They are clamps that are used when facing movements are required over points when detection of the points is not visible
On the EHPM, what does the power/manual switch control?
Power - remote operation of points
Manual-holds all fixed signals to stop over that set of points and allows manual operation of points
On the EHPM, what colour is the directional control lever?
RED
What is the pump handle used for?
Pump the points until they are lying in required position
Where are EHPMs located on the south side?
Cranbourne sidings
On the EHPM, where can the pump handle be located?
Cabinet located on the fence line
Are drivers allowed to put DCPMs back to motor under instructions from signallers/train control?
