If the lights are detected, what must the driver do?
Check and reset circuit breakers and switches
Hold saloon lights on button for 5 seconds
How will you know a circuit breaker is what has affected the saloon lights?
They will be in a regular sequence
If saloon lights are defective, when can’t the train operative?
Hours of darkness
MURL
If there are broken saloon windows, what is the procedure?
Contact TC and file a tmm
TC will arrange for a competent employee to stand by the window
If a competent employee can’t attend for a broken window what is the procedure?
Train can’t go into service
If a defective door is located, what is the procedure?
Secure using temporary locking device
Stickers to be put on the door
Advise TC and submit a TMM
If a defective door cannot be located, what is the procedure?
De train passengers
Door loop bypass
Shunt to nearest yard
What is the procedure if an entire side of one car are defective?
Check the circuit breakers above door 3
If that fails check the isolating cocks (door systems, doors a, doors b)
If all doors fail on an entire train, what could be the issue?
Auxiliary circuit breaker
If the doors fail to open, what could this be?
Door isolating cocks are isolated
How many doors can be isolated at any one time?
One door, per carriage per side
If a door has to be secured with a cable tie, what is the procedure?
Secure the door
Place door not in use stickers over handle
Place fault warning notice in each end motor car
If saloon lights are out on entire train, what the procedure?
Check pantos are up
Check 110dc supply
Trip and reset auxiliary cb
Press saloon light button 3 times and then hold for 10 seconds
