Spring park brakes are applied to the unit being attached
Coupler in good condition
Cocks open
Saloon doors closed and locked
Electrical switch in electrical or isolated position if attaching to another train
When attaching at platform what should the headboard read?
Not in service
What must happen when attaching to a stabled unit in a siding and pantos are up?
Stop 1 meter away
Carry out full cab
Check for safety banners ect
Ensure park brakes are on
What must happen when attaching to a stabled unit in a siding and pantos are down?
Stop short one meter Carry out full cab Check for safety banners Ensure park brake is on On Siemens or Xtrapolis ensure cabs are shut down Raise all pantos on the train
What must a driver complete of safe to do so?
Ensure main res and brake pipe end cocks are open
Ensure couplers line up
Ensure couplers and mouth pieces are in good condition
Electrical switch is in electrical position
