Q

What is the release prevention valve?

A

Only used on automatic air brake, it prevents main res air to enter the regulating valve when the brake is being used. Ensuring the brake will be released when in run and release

Q

What is the regulating valve?

A

When BVIC is opened takes main res air and Regulates how much air goes into the brake pipe via the equalising res and has a pressure of 380-410 during full service application and 550kpa in run and release

16
Q

What is a relay valve?

A

Controls the flow of air into and out of the brake pipe to a pressure set by the equalising res

17
Q

What is the equalising res?

A

The pressure in the equalising res determines the overall pressure in the brake pipe. Used predominately for automatic air
