Can a train be started with a red flag or safety banner protecting it?
No
If a driver finds a danger men at work tag in the cab, can they raise the pantograph?
No as it could cause serious injuries or death to the people working on the train
If two trains are parked in a siding and fitters need to work on the rear train, where would the banner be placed?
Between the protected train and the train in front
Who do you contact if your allocated train has equipment protecting the train?
Contact the DAO or fleet
If a banner is on the floor in a siding, what is it protecting?
The overheads directly above it
If a safety banner is on the floor, how should the trains behind it be treated?
Booked out and cannot be manned
Can you pass a safety banner on the floor in a siding?
Absolutely not
If preparing a train and you find a fault, what should you do?
Contact train control and fill out a TMM
If the train is delayed due to finding a fault during train prep and it is delayed who do you contact?
Train control and the DAO
If a significant fault is found on a train, who must be notified that the dock may be delayed?
Signaller
Who advises the location of a train to be docked and the motor number?
DAO or from the fleet allocation sheet
If you get to your train and the motor car numbers or location don’t match the information you were provided, can you prepare the train?
No attempts are to be made, contact the DAO immediately
In regards to special trains, if you have no departure time what is the duty of the driver?
To prepare the train and STAND BY and the train departs when required
