  • Venous hypertension
  • Secondary to valve failure or peripheral impedance
  • Over time, tissue pressure decreases skin resilience and endothelial damage that allows enzyme and free radical leakage into the tissue

A
  • Medial surface of the lower leg b/t mid-calf and malleolus
  • Shallow in depth than arterial and neuropathic ulcers
  • Irregular wound borders
  • Moist wound bed w/ red granulation tissue
  • Moderate to heavy exudate
