What causes degenerative spondylolisthesis
A
- Weakening of joints due to degenerative changes
- Changes include segmental ligamentous instability and subluxation of the hypertrophic facet joints

Clinical presentation for degenerative sponylolisthesis (DS)
A
- 50+ y/o
- More common with African Americans
- Female > male
- Back pain that increases w/ exercise, prolonged standing, getting out of bed or car, stairs, extension
- Neurological changes in possible myotomal or dermatomal patterns

Labs/imaging w/ DS
A
- X-ray
- CT or MRI to rule out other conditions

Bracing when necessary, flexion exercises, activity modification
