- Compression of the sciatic nerve (L4, L5, S1-S3) secondary to a herniated disk, tumor, infection, spondylolisthesis, stenosis, or blood clots

- LBP and gluteal pain
- Pain radiates down the back of the thigh along sciatic distribution
- Pain can be dull, aching, or sharp
- Intermittent N/T in dermatome
- TTP at level of herniation
