OTc benzoyl peroxide salicylic acid retinoids topical or systemic antibiotics isotretinoin
MOA of retinoids
Vitamin A derivative and MOA is to reduce adherence of the keratinocytes (outer skin cells) in the oil gland
First line treatment for mild acne
topical BPO or retinoid
First line treatment for moderate acne
topicals: combo
or
PO abx + BPO + topical retinoid (+/- topical abx)
First line treatment for severe acne
topicals: combo + po abx
or
oral isotretinoin
topical retinoids should be avoided in?
