Marriage of Anne Boleyn
Break from Rome and a Protestant England with Henry at the Head (in law).
Parliament gained more power- a greater role in supporting H positions in church and marriages.
To change supremacy or religion they now had to go through and use Parliament.
Henry grew in POWER AND INFLUCENCE.

Was their resistance from Parliament?

A

Showed resistance to constant demand for taxes and gave PC figures like Wolsey a hard time- social class- son of a butcher in Ipswich.

Also critical of wealth of church and evidence of church corruption (money, power, influence).

From early reign the Commons had became more critical of the powers and abuses of Catholic church and clergy.

A

Henry- he could dismiss and call Parliament. Veto any laws he did not like.
Upper hand politically was with the PC /council and monarch on decision making.
