He was manipulated though his Lord Protectors Somerset and Northumberland who really dominated politics e.g. it was mainly Somerset who introduced the Act of Uniformity 1549 and dealt with enclosures 1549 with agreement (manipulated boy king). Ketts and Western dealt with by him.

DEVICE 1553 manipulated by Northumberland to place his daughter in law Lady Jane Grey to be Queen- personal power.
