Molybdenum (Mo)
Molybdenum (Mo) is an essential trace mineral that is a co-factor in various enzymes involved in detoxification e.g.:
* Sulphite oxidase: Detoxification of sulphite to sulphate to prevent the dangerous accumulation of sulphites in the body
* Xanthine oxidase: Formation of uric acid from purine breakdown
* Aldehyde oxidase: The clearance of drugs containing aldehydes (also endotoxins found in candida overgrowth)

* Legumes (the richest source – especially black eyed peas)
* Whole grains
* Nuts
* Leafy green vegetables
* Beef liver
* Milk
Deficiency
Unknown in humans and average consumption falls within the recommended levels (adults: 45 mcg / day: TUL 2mg)
