Describe the method of preparing a slide

A
  1. Gather equipment: slide, cover slip, methylene blue, specimen piece, gloves, tweezers
  2. Put on gloves and clean slide
  3. Use tweezers to remove a small sample of specimen piece and place onto centre of slide
  4. place a DROP of methylene blue on top of specimen and secure with coverslip over slide
  5. now slide can be secured on to stage

Method for preparing a microscope examination

A
  1. Collect light microscope
  2. Place slide onto stage and secure with clips
  3. Set objective lens to lowest setting
  4. Use adjustment knobs to raise and drop platform to alter focus
  5. Adjust objective lens if object is still not focused
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 whilst looking through eye piece to monitor focus
