What are the risk factors for autoimmune hepatitis?
A
- Female sex
- Genetic predisposition
- Autoimmune diseases (T1D, thyroidits, UC, coeliac, RA)

A
Depending on the circulating antibodies present (ASMA, ANA, LKM1)

What are the management principles for a patient with autoimmune hepatitis?
A
- Immunosuppression
- Prednisolone +/- azathioprine (steroid-sparing)
- Liver transplantation (if decompensated)

Which hepatitis viruses are likely to cause an acute presentation? Which are more chronic?
A
- HAV and HBV can present acutely
- HCV is more chronic (and HBV can progress to chronic)

A
- Supportive (self-limiting)

- Avoid alcohol
- Immunise sexual contacts
- Antivirals/peg-interferon
