- Age-related degeneration of vessel walls
- AV shunting from chronic obstruction of submucosal veins due to repeated episodes of high intraluminal pressures
3
Q

A
- End-stage renal disease
- Von-Willebrand disease

- Scleroderma
4
Q

A
- Rectal bleeding
- Melaena sometimes
- Anaemic/hypovolaemic symptoms if chronic/severe
5
Q
What are the principles of management of aniodysplasia?
A
- Active haemorrhage
- Endoscopy, then mesenteric angiogram, leading to colonoscopy and adrenaline/cautery/resection
- Haemodynamically stable
- Endoscopy, angiogram, surgery if necessary
