What are the common causes of haematuria?
A
- Period, prostate, obstructive uropathy, nephritis, trauma, tumour, TB, thrombosis, bleeding disorders, infection/inflammation, stones
- Drugs
- Some can cause red urine without haematuria

How might you manage a patient with significant haematuria?
A
- Consider admission (clots, retention!)
- Manual bladder washout with a 3-way catheter
- Continuous bladder washout to prevent new clot formation
