UNILATERAL painful vesicular eruption w/ DERMATOMAL DISTRIBUTION (THORACIC and LUMBAR)
Herpes Zoster/ Shingles
MC complication of Herpes Zoster/Shingles
POSTHERPETIC NEURALGIA
Reactivation of latent VZV residing within GENICULATE GANGLION
Ramsay Hunt Syndrome/ Herpes Zoster Oticus
Ipsilateral Facial Paralysis
Ear Pain
Vesicles (Face, Ear)
Ramsay Hunt Syndrome/Herpes Zoster Oticus
Congenital Varicella - 6-12 weeks
Maximal interruption w/ LIMB DEVT
- short and malformed limbs covered w/ CICATRIX
- skin lesion w/ ZIGZAG SCARRING associated w/ atrophy of the affected limb
Congenital Varicella - 16-20 weeks
EYE and BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
Treatment for Moderate to Severe Varicella

Can be given w/n 5 days of exposure of modify course
