What is culture
The patterns of behavior and thinking that people living in social groups learn, develop and share
What is diversity
The array of differences among individuals, groups, and communitites
Discrimination
restriction of justice, rights, privileges of individuals or minority groups when dominant groups reinforce rules to limit opportunities for others
minority
Individual or group who are outside of dominant group
Subculture
group within a culture whose practices or beliefs are distinct from those of dominant culture
Multiculturism
many cultures and subcultures coexisting within given society
ethnic group
individuals with common heritage and characteristics, including nationality, language, values and customs

What are the guidelines of using an interpreter
avoid using family members to translate
