What was flapper?
An emancipated young women who embraced the new fashions, and urban attitude
What did flappers wear?
Close fitting has,, bright waistless dresses an inch above the knees, silk stockings, sleek pumps, and stings of beeds . They had boyish bobs
What did many young women start doing?
They bid for equal statues with men, started drinking, smoking and takling openly about sex. They also danced.
Was there an equal partnership in marriage?
Yes
What was the flapper more of an image of?
A Young, rebellious youth. It did not reflect the attitudes of many young people and what they valued
What was doublestandard?
A set of principles granting greater sexual freedom to men than women. So, during this time, there were new morals
Where were some new work opportunities for women?
factories, stores
What were some women’s proffessions that women grads turned too?
teachers, nurses, and librarians. There was a huge demand for clerical work like typists, clerks, sectretaries, an stenographers
What did daring women do..that was men’s work?
They workied in the oil industry, drove taxis, and flew airplances
What problem for women was there in the work force?
How did the birth rate change?
It dropped.
What was one of the reasons that birth rate dropped?
Because of more birth control info.
