Heutzutage findet Kommunikation nicht nur face-to-face statt, sondern vor allem auf medialem Wege.
Auch die Mimik und Gestik einer Person können wir dadurch mithilfe von Emojis über tausende von Kilometern mitverfolgen.
Communication is an innate human need.
Nowadays communication does not only take place face-to-face, but primarily via media.
We can also follow a person’s facial expressions and gestures with the help of emojis over thousands of kilometers.

Der Einfluss und die Macht der Medien nehmen ständig zu.
Sie bestimmen unser Bild von der Wirklichkeit und beeinflussen uns in dem, was wir für wesentlich, notwendig und richtig halten.
Der Kampf um Medienpräsenz und um Einfluss auf die Medien zielt deswegen auch auf den Erwerb und Erhalt von politischer und gesellschaftlicher Macht.
Kein Wunder, dass sich angesichts der zunehmenden Macht der Medien auch die kritischen und mahnenden Stimmen häufen.
Löst das Internet große Weltprobleme oder droht ein InformationsOverkill?

The influence and power of the media is increasing all the time.
They determine our view of reality and influence us in what we consider essential, necessary and right.
The struggle for media presence and influence on the media is therefore also aimed at acquiring and maintaining political and social power.
No wonder that in view of the increasing power of the media, critical and warning voices are increasing.
Is the Internet solving major global problems or is there a threat of an information overkill?

Das größte Problem der Computertechnik ist die Informationsflut.
Die Informationsmenge wächst und wächst und welche Folgen führt dies mit sich?
Daten sind mittlerweile in einer solchen Menge vorhanden, dass sie zu einer Art Abfall verkommen- und wir zu Müllschluckern.
Trotzdem hat noch keiner erkannt, dass das Internet für keines der wirklich wichtigen Probleme in unserer Zeit eine Lösung bietet.
Wenn in Ghana oder in einem anderen Land der Erde Kinder verhungern, die Kriminalität zunimmt, wenn Rassismus und Sexismus unser gesellschaftliches Leben verderben, dann liegt das nicht an einem Mangel an Information.
Dennoch scheint es, als ob das Internet den Weg in eine neue schöne Welt ebnet.

The biggest problem with computer technology is the information overload.
The amount of information grows and grows and what are the consequences?
Data is now available in such an amount that it degenerates into a kind of waste - and we into garbage chutes.
Still, nobody has recognized that the Internet does not offer a solution to any of the really important problems of our time.
If children starve to death in Ghana or in any other country on earth, if crime increases, if racism and sexism spoil our social life, then it is not due to a lack of information.
Still, it seems like the internet is paving the way to a new beautiful world.
