Feeling of satisfaction, enjoyment of scoring

Motivation that is tangible and come from external sources.
What is intangible extrinsic motivation?
Motivation that is not physical that comes from external sources.
What are some examples of tangible extrinsic motivation?
Medals, trophies, money
What are some examples of intangible extrinsic motivation?
Praise, applause, approval
What is NAF behaviour?
When a performer wants to succeed based on the need to avoid failure.
What is NACH behaviour?
When a performer wants to succeed based on a need to achieve.
What may a NAF performer display?
Will only approach situations where they will win, Avoid competition, Give up easily, Lack self confidence.
What may a NACH performer display?
Approach evaluative situations, take risks, seek challenge, welcome feedback, take responsibility for their actions
What is the achievement motivation formula?
Drive to succeed = Fear of failure
What are the situational factors that affect achievement motivation?
Incentive value and probability of success
How does the incentive value affect achievement motivation?
The higher the incentive value, the harder the task and usually the higher anxiety levels for NAF performers.
How does the probability of success affect achievement motivation?
The higher the probability of success, the easier the task is and the less anxiety will be present for NAF performers.
