What is an example of “providing professional psychological services ONLY in the context of clear professional and scientific relationships and roles accepted by the standard of practice of psychology”?
Psychologists should only provide professional services in the context of a defined professional relationship. E.g., If your neighbor asked you to talk to her son who was having some problems and to give her advice on how to help him. Meeting informally with a neighbor, assessing the difficulties, and then giving advice would be inappropriate.
How soon must a psychologist notify the Board if his/her license has had disciplinary action against it?
Within 60 days. He/she must notify the Board if a license, certificate, permit, or registration granted by another authority for the practice of psychology has been limited, restricted, suspended, revoked, or subjected to other disciplinary action by the particular licensing or granting authority.

To treat all individuals in a fair and objective manner without discrimination based on age, gender, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, disability, SES, or another basis proscribed by law.
If involved in a Board complaint investigation, what must a psychologist NOT do? (3 specific things + 1 in general)
1) Destroy records: knowingly or willfully destroy, damage, alter, obliterate, or otherwise obscure a medical or billing record or other info about a patient in an effort to conceal info from use as evidence.
2) Intimidate others: intimidate or influence an individual to withhold or change testimony in hearings or proceedings before the Board or those otherwise delegated to the Office of Administrative Hearings.
3) Delay info: hinder, prevent, or otherwise delay an individual from making info available to the Board in furtherance of an investigation of the Board.
In general, psychologists must cooperate fully with the Board and not make any attempt to undermine the Board’s investigations or activities.

It is important to establish our responsibility for our employees actions and provide them with appropriate training and supervision to ensure they follow through appropriately. E.g., we must ensure they are trained in confidentiality practices and in storing/disposing of records properly.

5) INFORMED CONSENT: make clear the nature of participation, as well as the costs and the psychologist’s obligations to be accepted by research participants.
6) INSTITUTIONS: obtain required approval from host institutions before conducting research.
7) REPORT: findings accurately, presenting only the psychologist’s work or making appropriate citations when needed.

Honesty in info we share about education and training experiences. A psychologist shall ensure that statements in course catalogs, seminar brochures, and course outlines are accurate and not misleading.
