10.36.01.07 Exceptions To Licensure Flashcards
What are the two exemptions from the requirement to be licensed to practice psychology in MD?
1) student, intern, resident, or fellow while performing the activities and services of a supervised course of study in psychology. These individuals are practicing under their supervisors’ licenses and may only practice in the training setting. Their exemption expires when they are no longer in that status.
2) limited practice reciprocity = a nonresident who is licensed to practice psychology in another state may apply for temporary exemption to practice in MD. The application must be submitted within 90 days of establishing residency in MD. The applicant must be scheduled to take the next Board-administered exam required for licensure. Their exemption expires if they fail the MD State exam.
