Use will (present) or Would (past) when:
1- Characteristics, behaviour, and habits.
2- Things that are or were always true.
1-Everyday Tom will come home from work and turn on the TV.
At school, she would always sit quietly and pay attention.
2- Cold weather will kill certain plants.
During the war, people would eat things we don’t eat now.
Don’t use will or would to talk about particular occasions.
But use won’t or wouldn’t for either case.
Each time I gave him a problem, he would solve it for me.
Last night I gave him a problem, and he solved it for me.
In speech, We can stress will or would to criticise people’s caracteristic, behaviour or habits.
She just won’t do the wash when I ask her.

Use will or would to show disapproval.

Use will to make conclusions or state assumptions in the case NOW.

Use USED TO+INFINITIVE or WOULD to repeated things in the past, when time reference is clear.
When time is not given, use USED TO+INFINITIVE.
We used to play in the garden. (time not clear).
Whenever we went to my uncle’s house, we would/used to play in the garden.
Use USED TO (NOT WOULD) for past events that have changed.
The factory used to be over there.

We don’t use WOULD, or USED TO when we say exactly how many times the event has happened.
We visited Salvador twice in 2010.
She went to Jamaica last month.
Use WOULD HAVE + Participle for imaginary situations that didn’t happend in the past.
I would have been happy to see him, but I didn’t have time.
Past situation actually happened, use WILL HAVE +Participle
