A

It is the formation of synaptic pathways and how neurons become connected. It grows overtime and can be pruned overtime as well, which means making specific connections that are more effective.

What is neurogenesis?

A

It is the prenatal development of the brain. early neurons begin as a neural tube (brain stem) and blossom upwards. Localization curs, which is how brains find specific spots like the frontal global and occipital lobe.

What is brain maturation?

A

It is post-natal development. It is when connections are created but also destroyed at times like puberty. The thinning of cortical tissue is destroying unneeded parts, while thickening is creating new parts. It is easier to gain new skills in this time. Peak maturation is at 25.
